Here we try to answer the questions that normally arise. However, if your question remains unanswered, please use the "Contact us" form.

Things to know before we begin

All email ID's in CLASSMATES pages mean fully qualified internet email addresses. For example: myname@myISP.com or krishna12345@yahoo.com are valid. Plain "myname" or "krishna12345" are not complete addresses, hence invalid.


How do I place my message?

To place your message, you need to become a registered user.

How do I become a registered user?

To become a registered user click on New Users link, fill up the form and submit. You will be sent your login password to your Email ID (UserID). So please make sure you provide us a valid email Id. Once you've signed up, you can use your user Id to place your message, Delete other people's message and so on. Also, this is the email ID to which we will report on the status of your message. Privacy: We do not sell or loan your email ID to third parties.

What is 'Edit user profile' / How to 'change my password?' / change your UserID?

You can change your password after login. Click on Edit your profile. You may also change your profile like contact information, second email Id, etc. The second email Id is required as a backup, just in case your primary email Id is not reachable.

Please Note: To better protect your account, make sure that your password is memorable for you but difficult for others to guess. Your new password must be a minimum of six characters long.

You can change your Email ID/ User ID Clicking on the Change your Email ID/UserID link. Enter your new Email ID in the textbox provided and click on the Submit button.You would be required to confirm your new email-Id by responding to an email to the new Id. If you do not respond, your old Id will be preserved.

How to place a New message?

Once you have logged in goto Classmates Home. Click on the school/college link where you want to add your message. Click on the Post your message link on the top right hand corner of the page.
You can view the list of the messages you have posted.
 

  • In the "Name as in school/Nickname " field, enter the school/college name or your nickname
  • In the "Year of Graduation" field, select your year of graduation.
  • In the "Degree Course/ Major" field,select your degree. If your degree / course is not in the list you can enter it in the textfield provided below by checking the option "Belong to any other branch/ class not listed?"
  • In the "Message" field, Enter your Message. This must not exceed 600 characters.
  • In the "Your Address/ Phone" field, enter your Address or phone no. or any other means through which visitors can contact you.
  • In the "Email" field, by default your UserID will be displayed you can fill in any other email ID.


    Please Note:
    The "Email" field will be used to contact you whenever your message is deleted by other users and any response (enquiry) is made to you by other users.
    Your email Id will not be displayed in the pages to avoid picking up by "spiders" (spammers). However, any visitor can respond to your message by clicking on the "Send Response" button.

    How to edit your message?

    Once you have logged in goto Classmates Home. Click on the school/college link where you want to add your message. Click on the Post your message link on the top right hand corner of the page. You can view a list of the messages you have posted along with the status.

    Status of the message
    Active : The message is currently being displayed to visitors.
    Deleted : The message has been deleted by you.

    Click on the message you can view the complete message. Click on the EDIT DETAIL button. You can make changes to your message in the form and click the EDIT button

    Please Note:
    EDIT DETAIL button will be displayed only for active messages.
    If your message is not being displayed, it means another visitor or the website administrator has deleted it.

    How to repost a message?

    Once you have logged in goto Classmates Home. Click on the school/college link where you want to add your message. Click on the Post your message link on the top right hand corner of the page. You can view a list of the messages you have placed along with their status.

    Status of the message
    Active : The message is currently being displayed to visitors.
    Deleted : The message has been deleted by you.

    Click on the message you can view the complete message. Click on the REPOST button. You can make changes to your message in the form and click the REPOSTMSG button

    Please Note:
    You can repost only those message whose status is Deleted.

    How to delete your own message?

    Once you have logged in goto Classmates Home. Click on the school/college link where you want to add your message. Click on the Post your message link on the top right hand corner of the page you can view a list of the messages you have placed along with the status of the message.

    Click on the message you can view the complete message. Click on the DELETE button.

    Please Note:
    You can delete message that is active.

    How to delete another user's message?

    Once you have logged in when you click the Delete this message link (while navigating through the Most Recent Posters or search or viewing the messages in a particular institution ) Enter the reason for deletion and Submit. Afer submission you can continue viewing the message.

    The message you deleted will be send to the site administrator for review. Also, a mail will be sent to the poster notifying the deletion, and the email Id of the deleter. (So make sure you have valid reasons to delete other people's message.) The site admin reviews the message and approves or deletes the message permanantly.

    Please Note:
    If the admin has reason to believe that you are violating the rights of others, your account may be deactivated

    How to respond to a message?

    You can respond to a message by Clicking the Send Response button. Fill up your Email ID, your message and submit. Two mails will be sent. One to the poster, and one to you for your records. The poster's email ID will not be revealed to you. However, your email ID will be sent to the poster, and he may reply to you directly.

    What is "Tell a friend"?

    If you find some message that may interest your friend or colleague, you can email the page (URL) to them by clicking on this link.

    In the "Your Email Id" field Enter your Email ID.
    In the "Send To (Email Id)" field Enter your friend's Email ID.
    In the "Message" field Enter the message for your friend
